Training
 
 

We employ over 500 people with a range of mild disabilities who are trained across a range of different manufacturing and packaging operations. Our people are dedicated and enjoy coming to work. The company is a registered charity and receives funding from the Commonwealth Department of Family & Community Services. Our training includes:

Work Experience
 


 
Cumberland Industries
has a work experience program, which is a great way for students to learn new skills in a working environment. School students can experience what it's like to go from school to work.

Who Can Apply
To gain access to the services offered by Cumberland Industries, applicants must meet the following Eligibility Criteria:
  • Is endorsed by Centrelink (in receipt of DSP or eligble for it)
  • Aged over 15 years
  • Has a mild disability
  • Has a desire to work
  • Does not display challenging behavioural characteristics (including aggresive or abusive behaviour)
  • Is independantly mobile
  • Is independantly in personal care
  • Is able to travel to and from work independantly
  • Agrees to participate in productivity assessment, individual employment planning and training processes
  • Agrees to respect the rights of others
  • Agrees to disclose medical information regarding disability
  • Agrees to abide by all Company OHS rules and regulations
  • Agrees to abide by medical strategies prescribed by their medical professionals
